The French harpist Mélanie Laurent is the Gold Medal Winner of the 11th USA International Harp Competition 2019, one of the world’s most prestigious harp contests. She is also the winner of the Bellan International Competition in 2017 and graduate student at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris.
By her virtuoso, rich and sensitive playing, Mélanie charms the public, according to Harp Column Magazine, who describes her as an « inspirational » person and praises her « golden touch ».
Introduced to classical music thanks to a family of professional musicians, her playing is nourished by a thriving multidisciplinary career; she enjoys teaching, performing solo concerts, and substitutes frequently within many orchestras.
As a solo artist, she plays in France and all around the world and will perform in Cardiff, Chicago, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Milano and Torino in the next few months.
Mélanie Laurent has already played with Orchestre de l’Opera National de Paris, Orchestre National de France, and Orchestre National d’Ile de France, among others, and performed in venues as the Berliner Philharmonie, Berlin Konzerthaus, Philharmonie de Paris, Opera Bastille, Opera Garnier, and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.

She plays on a Style 23th Gold Concert Grand harp by Lyon&Healy, won at the USA International Harp Competition, and an Atlantide Prestige by the french harp maker Camac.
